Woolpower - wash and care instructions

Wool doesn't smell.

The wool fiber’s ability to absorb and neutralize bad odor is far superior to that of other textile materials. Thanks to its chemical structure, wool can neutralize substances from the body that create bad odor. This is a distinct advantage when the accessibility of a washing machine is limited.

Washing in 60°C

Woolpower garments can be machine washed at 60 °C (140 °F) and tumble-dried at medium heat. This is a requirement from the Swedish and Norwegian armies and several major industrial clients. Humid conditions promote bacteria growth at temperatures between 20 °C and 40 °C (68 °F and 104 °F) and certain soil bacteria will not die until the clothes are washed at 60 °C (140 °F). In the case of mid-layer garments in Ullfrotté Original, washing at 40 °C (104 °F) is often sufficient since they are not worn directly on the body and do not absorb as much soil from the skin.

Useful wash tips

All the garments should be washed with similar colors. They may shed in the first few washes. When you wash clothing made from wool, a mild soap-based detergent, a regular detergent or no detergent at all can be used. Fabric softeners can be used as well.

Clothes made in Ullfrotté Original can also be tumbled dry, but excessive dryer heat can damage the fibers.

The clothes will not shrink much but will contract some. Since they have inherent stretch, they will comfortably conform to the body.

Washing the garments inside out will help increase the lifespan of the product.
