Cumulus Incredilite Review

The Incredilite is a beast, I absolutely love it.

It's very well made, the Pertex feels incredible. Had 2 or 3 loose downs though. Zipper works fine, very smooth after a couple of times.

Love the fact that the Jacket uses elastic straps on the arms and waist. I prefer them over shock cords with cord stopper. For me, 193 cm with a back length around 72 cm and pretty long arms the XXL fits very well, arm length is great and allows me to raise the arms in front of the torso without a problem or feeling confined.

I had it over my baselayer, and it fits fine, even though some people might find it a little roomy. Over Baselayer + Powerstretch-Fleece or Windshirt it fits awesome though. Pretty much like a second skin. I absolutely love it. Back is longer than front, a feature I really like.

Packs into its own pocket and compresses very small. Great to save space in the Backpack.

Included Stuffsack for storage is nice, but it seems to be too tight. So not sure if I wanted to store the Jacket in the Stuffsack. Might sew me a Cuben/Silnylon Stuffsack with slightly more volume so I can store the Jacket without the risk of overcompression.

However, once unpacked or removed from the Stuffsack the Jacket lofts immediately. Gives instant warmth, exactly what I was looking for. The adjustable Hood feels good and is roomy enough to wear a Beanie, Balaclava, Polar-Buff and there like.

For the Gearheads:

Jacket is sewn-through. So are most of the Down-Jackets nowadays, except high end garments from Manufacturers like Feathered Friends, Montbell or Western Mountaineering. After all the Incredilite is a Down sweater though and not a parka - and beats the hell out of the competitors when it comes to value vs. price, quality of fabrics and insulation material and features (3 pockets + hood, compression).

Pros:

--> Well made

--> Great fabrics and down quality

--> Instant loft + warm

--> Compresses very small in the Backpack

--> Hood is very nice, easy to adjust

--> Athletic fit, not too tight though.

--> Length of Sleeves is great.

--> Back of the Jacket is slightly longer than the front

--> Jacket has loop to hang it (Great for shelters)

--> Made in Poland, Europe

Cons:

--> Included Stuffsack for Storage compresses too much (imho)
--> Had loose strands around the internal pocket area, tried to cut them off, but they kept coming. After

      flaming them off it they are gone. (It’s a problem of the Pertex fabric though.)
